What can NCS4 (National Center for Spectator Sports Security and Safety) at Southern Miss do for your MBA career? We would not have known before talking with Katherine Miller, who got her MBA from Southern Miss. Once she told us that she landed her current job as an Event Coordinator at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome/Smoothie King Center/Champions Square as a direct result of the graduate assistantship she had with NCS4 at Southern Miss, we knew we had to find out more. We went straight to the source and asked Katherine herself to tell us about her experience with the “best kept secret at Southern Miss,” the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security. You can hear what she has to say about it in the video below.
NCS4 is a critical resource for sport venue managers, event managers, first responders, and other key stakeholders. Through training and professional development, this national center can give its members – no matter their location – full access to important information, resources, educational programs, communication capabilities, and more. The center works closely with Southern Miss’s MBA students with a Sport Security Management emphasis to provide graduate assistantship opportunities for on-campus students. They also provide a way that online students from across the nation can join in on these great opportunities and insight that they offer through student memberships.
Current NCS4 graduate assistants, Daniel Eborall and Karen Phan

A membership through NCS4 will provide you with access to annual conferences and workshops, best practices guides, and resource libraries. It also supplies networking with individuals from security-related government agencies, law enforcement professionals, supplies of products and services that support the global security industry, high-standing credentials and much more.
Corporations, individual professionals, and students can all be a part of USM’s National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security. With student memberships being only $40 a year, we can see why Katherine Miller called NSC4 one of Southern Miss’s “best kept secrets.”
