MAT 103, MAT 114, MAT 128, or MAT 167 is required for this major. Students may enter MAT 103, MAT 114, or MAT 128 directly if Math ACT sub score is 24 or higher. Students may enter MAT 167 directly if Math ACT sub score is 26 or higher. If Math ACT sub score if less than 24, MAT 101 and MAT 103 must be completed.
Hours to Degree
120 hours are needed to graduate with a BS in Industrial Engineering Technology with an emphasis in Logistics. At least 50 percent of the hours applied to a degree at The University of Southern Mississippi must be earned from a senior college, and 30 of these hours must be in courses numbered 300 or above. The student must earn at least 21 of the last 30 hours of course work and at least 12 hours in the major area of study from Southern Miss. See Residence Hour Requirements for more information.

While most Industrial Engineering Technologists have traditionally gone to work in manufacturing and related industries, an increasing number are being used in other areas including logistics transportation, supply chain, utilities, healthcare, government, and service industries. Our alumni survey indicates majority of our graduates work with local companies. A significant number of graduates work within the US and some of them are employed in overseas.

Admission Requirements
The following is required from all undergraduate applicants:
- Application for Undergraduate Admission
- $45 non-refundable application fee
- An official high school transcript for freshman (high school) applicants OR official transcripts from all institutions attended after high school for transfer applicants
- Submission of ACT or SAT scores for freshman (high school) applicants
- Documentation of two doses of measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) immunization. Upload a copy of your proof of immunization.
